WE NEED TO SEAS THE DAY

THOSE same seas that gave rise to the very idea of Ireland are now vital to our future survival, freedom and prosperity.

Our waters are dying from over-heating and overexploitation.

And if we lose them we can forget about everything else.

But they are also an untapped resource of endless energy to free us from the grip of fossil fuel profiteers and tyrants holding the world to ransom with crippling bills.

As an island people we should understand the stakes as outlined by UN chief Antonio Guterres this week.

Speaking at a global ocean conference, he addressed more than 60 world leaders, including Micheal Martin.
