Arteta says his Gunners milestone means little without silverware

- BY TOM CANTON

MIKEL ARTETA admitted taking charge of his 300th game as Arsenal manager mattered little - as he has not won enough trophies.

The Spaniard has spent almost six years at the helm but his only piece of silverware remains the FA Cup (right) he secured in his first six months in the job.

Arsenal have finished runners-up in the Premier League for the last three seasons while Arteta reaches his personal milestone with the highest win percentage of any Gunners manager, 58.6 percent.

Victory over visitors West Ham today would also move Arsenal top of the table, at least temporarily, with Liverpool travelling to Chelsea in the evening kickoff.

But Arteta conceded landing more silverware was the only way he will have a chance of staying in the hot-seat for another 300 matches.
