Summer childcare costs hol lot more

CHILDCARE over the long summer break now costs more than a family holiday, says money man Nick Charalambous.

Primary schools close for July and August and with most parents now working, it can cause a logistical headache.

The solution is usually costly summer camps, which add up to an average of €700 to €1,200 per child.

It could push finances into the red, but the top financial advisor says planning can play a critical role in helping parents reduce this burden.
