Ed has big plans after ace scorches to Lowther glory

- by MELISSA JONES

ROYAL FIXATION pegged back America Queen in the Lowther Stakes to leave her connections dreaming of Group One glory.

The Ryan Moore-ridden runner-up had a clear advantage from the main pack running inside the final furlong of six.

But fresh from his late claim for glory on Ombudsman in the Juddmonte International 24 hours earlier, Will Buick got Royal Fixation motivated.

The 5-2 joint favourite joined her market match and had the superior finish to get in front by a length, with Staya two more back in the bronze medal position.

A tilt at the top-tier Cheveley Park Stakes is now on the cards for the winner, who made a race of it with unbeaten star Venetian Sun on her recent travels to Newmarket.
