YOU can't ever hang on a politician's word.

The only thing you can trust is that you can distrust them all equally.

But the President of Ireland's Christmas message did strike a chord.

Just like her predecessors, Catherine Connolly issued a Christmas message to all Irish citizens, at home and abroad.

And for those of us spending the festive season away from home, I was one who actually paid attention to the Nollaig Shona wishes from across the miles.
