Paedophile doctor's sick excuse for dodging Garda interview

Medical refusal while being well enough to talk to journalist

PAEDOPHILE monster Michael Shine is refusing to cooperate with the gardai over new allegations made against him, we can reveal.

The daily Mass-goer, 93, has declined to be interviewed citing medical grounds - but did a 25-minute chat with a journalist a few days ago.

A total of 370 people have come forward and claimed they were abused by the disgraced surgeon as kids, including several in the past few weeks.

The Government is considering a request from victims for a Commission of Inquiry into how he got away with sexually assaulting children for 40 years.

Dignity4Patients CEO Adrienne O'Reilly, which represents his abused patients and their families, said: "Michael Shine is a convicted paedo-phile. He did three years in jail.

"The vast majority of his victims have never received justice or seen a day in court. He was never punished for what he did to them.

"He could find the time to do an interview and claim all the allegations against him are lies and that the victims are just in it for the money.
