MOSES DYER is not giving up on his World Cup dream and hopes his wonder goal registers back home.

Galway United's new striker has 11 senior caps for New Zealand while the All Whites qualified for World Cup 2026 only last week.

But Dyer won his last cap back in 2018 and hasn't been in the frame since moving away from New Zealand to play in Norway, Canada and America.

That may not change having pitched up in Ireland this year but scoring both goals in a 2-0 win away to Bohemians last Friday won't harm his cause.

Nor will the fact he became a social media sensation for his stunning second goal at Dalymount Park, with comparisons to Marco Van Basten (above).

Notts Forest ace Chris Wood (right) is New Zealand's captain, while their attack also includes Mansfield's Ben Waine and three home-based players.
