TAOISEACH Micheal Martin has denied his flights home from Japan were changed to ensure he would make it home in time to make it to a Cork hurling match.

- BY LOUISE BURNE

He was in Japan last week as part of a Government trade mission and it was initially intended he would fly home via Dubai and land in Ireland at 12pm on Saturday.

However, he and his delegation reurned via Canada and arrived in Ireland around 8am.

Yesterday, the Irish Daily Mail published details of the flights and included quotes from politicians questioning if he had arrived home early to ensure he would not miss his native Cork vs Dublin in the semifinal in Croke Park.
