Man faces assault rap after OAP dies

'No' says accused as he is also charged with burglary

A MAN has appeared in court charged with assaulting a Co Tipperary pensioner who later died in hospital.

Sean Harding, 31, faced four counts when he appeared at Nenagh District Court yesterday.

Mr Harding, with an address at Marian Terrace in Tipperary town, is charged with three counts of burglary and one of assault causing harm.

It is alleged that he assaulted retired bus driver Teddy Murnane, 81, causing him harm, on Friday evening.

Mr Harding is alleged to have carried out the assault at Mr Murnane's home on St Michael's Avenue, Tipperary town.
