Alexis header sees off Real

- ANDY DUNN

TRENT Alexander-Arnold was given a villain's welcome on his return to Anfield and taunted after Alexis Mac Allister gave Liverpool a memorable Champions League win.

Alexander-Arnold was loudly booed when he came on as a late substitute last night for Real Madrid and the Anfield crowd jeered his every touch.

And the Kop delightedly sang Conor Bradley's name after Mac Allister's second-half header had given Arne Slot's side a deserved victory.

It added up to a nightmare night for Alexander-Arnold, who barely put a foot right in his 14 minutes on the pitch.

Nine

Liverpool now move level with Real Madrid in the Champions League standings with nine points from four matches.

Matchwinner Mac Allister said: "I think it was a good game against a really good team.

"A win, but we know it doesn't mean anything — the experience last season, we finished first and then after that we were out quite early."
