Slot unhappy at early goal as Kop lose again to 'low block and long balls'

- Vic MULLIGAN

LIVERPOOL boss Arne Slot was left with regrets yesterday as his side lost a fourth game on the trot to the “long balls” of Manchester United.

And he wasn't happy with United's opener at Anfield when Bryan Mbeumo scored after two minutes even though Alexis Mac Allister was lying prone with a head injury.

It's Liverpool's worst run since November 2014, and if they lose at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday it will be their worst run since September 1953.

Slot saw his team fight back to equalise through Cody Gakpo only for Harry Maguire to snatch victory.

"It is always difficult to play against a team that defends in a low block and mainly plays the long ball," said Slot.
