Challenge fails to block terminus toilet for drivers

RESIDENTS from a housing estate have failed in their attempt to block Dublin Bus from erecting a portable toilet for drivers at a terminus.

An Coimisiun Pleanala upheld the decision of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council to approve the application for the “prefabricated drivers’ welfare facility” adjacent to a bus stop in Ballinteer, Dublin 16.

It rejected Kingston Residents’ Association’s appeal against the ruling with locals claiming a “large ugly black box” was being located in “an extremely sensitive place right at the entrance to a beautiful, well-tended estate”.
