KID FREED FROM 'CLAW MACHINE'

FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a child who became trapped in a shopping centre "claw machine".

Three units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the Shannon Town Centre after the alarm was raised.

The Cosmic Crane machine allows users to insert money and manoeuvre a claw in an effort to "grab" and claim a novelty prize.

The child is believed to have climbed into the machine, through a slot where footballs are dispensed.
