Geldof says music fundraiser with only women could be hit
AS Live Aid celebrates its 40th anniversary, Bob Geldof has told how it would not work today because rock'n'roll no longer has the currency it did in the 1980s.
And the Irish rocker believes if someone did try to pull off a similar event, it would be best to do it with female artists only.
He said: "Rock'n'roll is the most powerful art there has ever been. But it has ceased to be the spine of our culture. It was of the moment... but I'm not sure that exists now."
