Israeli forces launch new Gaza onslaught

GAZA'S fragile ceasefire was on the brink of collapse last night after Israel launched fresh attacks on the Strip amid claims Hamas breached the deal.

Health chiefs in the territory said at least two Palestinians were killed as tank fire and explosions rang out - and locals braced for more raids.

Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hamas of violating the peace accord by claiming a coffin handed over on Monday contained the wrong deceased hostage.

It said the body parts belonged to another captive who was recovered earlier.
