HELPING GAZA LEARN HOW TO HOPE AGAIN

WHILE the horrors of conflict and famine still hang over Gaza, it is hard to look to the future with any hope.

But that is just what a group of Irish academics are trying to keep alive amid the ashes of the war.

The delegation from Queen's University Belfast travelled to Cairo this week to meet with educators from Gaza for a series of discussions focused on rebuilding and shaping the future of education there.

The programme, organised in partnership with the charity Forward Thinking, will be undertaken in association with St Mary's University College.

It will bring together expertise from the North and the Strip to share insights on education in societies impacted by conflict.
