United vow to splash cash as Amorim reaches anniversary

MANCHESTER United chief Jason Wilcox has given a show of faith to Ruben Amorim by promising to splash the cash on new players.

United committed to an outlay of at least €240m in a summer transfer splurge — but boss Amorim was under pressure after a poor start to the campaign.

Tomorrow's trip to Nottingham Forest comes on the one-year anniversary of Amorim's appointment as Erik ten Hag's successor and director of football Wilcox promised further investment to secure major honours.

"We have got a clear plan," Wilcox said. "We know what we have got to do, we know the areas of the team that we have got to improve.
