Enrique's hard work at PSG to pay off
AFTER watching the worst game of football ever played for money, European football has a shot at redemption.
Whereas Manchester United versus Tottenham in the Europa League final was drab, tonight's clash between PSG and Inter Milan has the potential to be great.
You have PSG, who have never won the Champions League, up against threetimes winners, Inter Milan.
Yet it's not just history that separates them.
It is also a clash of style, culture, tactics, age.
One side had the youngest average age in the knock-out stages, the other the oldest.
One is chasing history, a first title, the other is hoping time doesn't catch up on them.
Luis Enrique purposely changed the culture of the club when he arrived in Paris two years ago.
At that stage, PSG were known as a buying club, their owners a little in love with the idea of having photo opportunities with the poster boys: Neymar, Zlatan, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
None delivered for them, not even Messi, who was past it by the time he swapped Barcelona for Paris.
While Mbappe was younger by the time he joined, he played for himself, rather than the team.
And that was the first thing Enrique sought to change, bringing Mbappe to a basketball game, where he asked him to observe the work rate of the five players on each team.
