I'm not sure that the Irish actually built America, that's a bit of a stretch. But we certainly played our part in introducing cursing to the land of the f**king free.

We do cursing better than most nations, if not best of all. We know when a curse is required, and instinct tells us what curse will do the job.

The French are good at wine tasting - we are similarly good at understanding the subtle tones and notes required in an expletive.

This week, the world (with the exception of our great little nation), gasped as Donald Trump said “they don’t know what the f**k they're doing”.
