Cromwell's charge can go one better today

PATH D'OROUX (1.40) can go one better than 12 months ago and capture the featured €100,000 Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse today.

Trainer Gavin Cromwell specialises in these 2m handicap chases, he saddled the first three home last year with Path D'Oroux splitting the winner The King Of Prs and Midnight It.

All three Cromwell inmates return and although the yard is not seemingly firing on all cylinders at present, Path D'Oroux did run well at Leopardstown over hurdles at Christmas and has obviously been trained with this race in mind.

He runs off the very same mark and the very same 11st2Ibs weight and jockey Kieran Buckley has been given a chance on the nine-year-old.

The son of Coastal Path is a smooth travelling type and was probably just caught for speed at Leopardstown over hurdles and he’ a far better chaser nowadays.
