Emotional scenes as families reunited at airport terminals

EMOTIONAL travellers wiped tears from their faces as they greeted loved ones in the arrivals hall of Dublin Airport yesterday.

Airport bosses reckon more than 100,000 people a day will pass through the transport hub each day over the festive period with 1.8 million expected in total.

Families and friends held handmade signs as they eagerly awaited their relatives.

One of them was Sean Moore, who was waiting on his brother Conor and his wife Joceyln, who were flying in from Portugal.

Sean waited patiently in the arrivals hall with his two sons, Luke and Adam.

The trio held signs that had a cutout of Conor's and Jocelyn's faces along with a “Welcome Home” message.
