POLICE have released the first image of a 42-year-old man who was murdered in the early hours of Monday morning.

The victim has now been officially confirmed as Barry Furfey.

Detectives launched a murder investigation following the death in Lisburn, Co Antrim.

Mr Furfey was found seriously injured at an address in the Wardsborough Road area.

He died in hospital on Monday after sustaining serious injuries.
