DUBLINER SCALES BACKING RODGERS TO USE CUP SHOCK TO FIRE CELTS TO EVEN GREATER HEIGHTS

BRUISED Brendan Rodgers has been backed to bounce back from the agony of missing out on the Treble and make Celtic even stronger next season.

The Hoops boss was left gutted at missing out on the domestic clean sweep after Aberdeen soaked up Celts pressure to snatch the Scottish Cup on penalties. It was an agonising end to a successful season where the Parkhead men romped to the Premier-ship title and lifted the League Cup - while charging to the Champions League knockout stages.

Rodgers (left) is determined to kick on again and is set to hold talks with club chiefs this week to thrash out a plan of attack for next term.

Another striker is top of his wish list, and he's also targeting at least one more wide man. Rodgers is also in the market for another left back but has not closed the door in keeping Greg Taylor - or Jeffrey Schlupp.
