DISPOSED President Nicolas Maduro was behind bars in New York yesterday after he was captured during US strikes on his fortress home in Venezuela.
The developments came amid increasing criticism of Trump domestically and abroad over his actions which the Center for International Policy called “an illegal and reckless regime change operation”.
Maduro, 63, and his wife, First Lady Cilia Flores, were being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York after being taken from Caracas by US special forces.
Maduro was charged with narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of machine guns and destructive devices and conspiracy to possess machine guns and destructive devices against the US.
The indictment also lists his wife and son, also Nicolas and known as ‘The Prince’, as defendants.
