COUNT INSECT WINDSCREEN SPLATS FOR ECO SURVEY

MOTORISTS sick of washing insect splats off their windscreens after long journeys have been asked to take note of them this weekend instead.

European charity Bugslife are asking the Irish public to record what sticks to the front of their cars between now and the end of September.

A similar survey in the North found a 55 per cent decline in the number of flying insects splatted on vehicle number plates between 2021 and 2024.
