CONOR SLAMS RULE CHANGE

CONOR MCMANUS has hit out at an "absolutely ridiculous" rule change introduced during the Allianz Football League.

After the first five rounds, Central Council passed six amendments to the new rules and one of them, which sees the ball moved up 50 metres if a player is impeded in any way after taking a mark from a kickout, irks the former Monaghan star.

McManus also wonders, with the raft of rule changes across the board, whether the two-pointer, and particularly the two-point free, is necessary.

He said: "I think by and large, if you take the rules as a whole they've definitely helped the game. Some elements of it, we've just overdone it a bit.
