PSG'S record five-goal demolition of Italian giants Inter was so devastating that even Mbappe, the man who left because he thought they'd never win the Champions League, was left in awe

CINQ WITHOUT TRACE

IT was a performance so complete that even Kylian Mbappe felt compelled to congratulate the club he left because he feared he would never win the Champions League in Paris.

Mbappe walked out on Paris Saint-Germain a year ago to pursue his dream of becoming a European champion and Ballon d’Or winner in Spain with Real Madrid.

Twelve months on, the team he left behind to become a serial winner have become serial thrillers. Luis Enrique (lifting the trophy, above) has made history at the Parc des Princes - and when the nominations for the Golden Ball are announced, the names of Desire Doue (left) and Ousmane Dembele will feature prominently.

“The big day has finally arrived,” gushed Mbappe (right, after PSG's semi-final defeat last season) on Instagram. “Victory and with the manner of a whole club. Congratulations, PSG.”
