JESSIE J says her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this year has made her a better parent, and she is grateful for the lessons and perspective she has learned since undergoing surgery earlier this year.

The 37-year-old singer hugged Kate Middleton at the Royal Variety Performance in the UK last week, and has compared the event to a “school assembly with a big budget”.

Speaking about meeting Kate, who was also treated for cancer last year, Jessie squealed: “I hugged the Princess!”
