THE American tourist who was left in a coma after an attack in Dublin has applied for compensation over his ordeal.

Stephen Termini was left fighting for his life after the attack in Dublin's Store Street in July 2023 - and is now back living in his native Buffalo, New York, as he tries to rebuild his life.

Mr Termini, who was attacked by three underage teens - two of whom have now been released from custody having served less than their full sentences, has told how he's been left seriously out of pocket over what happened.

Having incurred what he says were costs of €80,000 for his back surgery, Mr Termini says he has applied through a solicitor for what's known as the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme.
