Transport to new ground still an issue for fans ahead of final test run

- BY CHRIS MCKENNA

TRAVEL BLUES

THERE will be a ferry that has been jokingly called 'HMS Toffee' taking fans across the Mersey towards the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Whether or not it will be smooth sailing at Everton's new ground on Bramley Moore Dock remains to be seen but there is definitely excitement.

The countdown is on to the grand opening of the Blues' new home.

This weekend's final test event a first-team and legends match against Roma will serve as the last warm-up act to resolve any issues before they cut the ribbon for real against Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday, August 24.

The cleaners are currently making sure everything is spotless, from seats to concourse floors, while premium lounges are getting their final fittings.
