Hat-trick hero Lowe ready to face Saints once again but he is not taking anything for granted in European quest

- BY DEREK FOLEY

JAMES LOWE'S hat-trick was the single biggest deciding factor in Leinster's semi-final win over Northampton last season.

It was the first hat-trick ever scored in a Champions Cup semi-final, all the better for being a 'genuine' hat-trick - that is, scored consecutively.

The first two were on the board after 14 minutes. Ross Byrne and Fin Smith swapped penalties before half-time and the hat-trick score came three minutes after the break. Leinster led 20-3 and were cruising. Or so we thought.
