A MOTHER-OF-TWO accused of having firearms and ammunition has been remanded in custody.
Ciara O'Reilly, 30, of Gleann an Ghairdin, Gorey, Co Wexford, appeared before a special sitting of Wexford District Court on Saturday night on four charges.
Ms O'Reilly, who appeared before Judge John O'Leary following a search of a property on March 27, is charged with having in her possession a firearm, which is a 9mm laser-calibre Heckler and Koch MP5K submachine gun as well as a .22 long rifle calibre firearms barrel.
Ms O'Reilly is also accused of having in her possession an explosive substance, three handheld grenades and an ammunition magazine for a 9mm laser-calibre submachine gun.
She was first brought before the court on Saturday night at which she was remanded in custody following a procedural hearing.
Prosecuting Sergeant Victor Isdell informed the court that gardai were objecting to an application for bail.
