Book reveals Dubliners' window on world

- BY LARISSA NOLAN

A VISUALLY stunning new book tells how Dublin was a world leader in stained glass art throughout the 20th century.

Dublin's Stained Glass by David Caron showcases some of the best pieces in the capital, in locations such as Christchurch Cathedral, the National Museum and the iconic Bewley's Cafe.

Artists such as the pioneering Michael Healy - who grew up in a Dublin tenement - along with Harry Clarke, Evie Hone and Wilhelmina Geddes were masters of their art. All were trained in the capital and worked in the city.

Dublin's reputation for stained glass excellence was internationally lauded, particularly from 1915 to 1980.
