Museum dedicated to Antarctic hero

A NEW museum dedicated to the life of the explorer Ernest Shackleton has opened.

The Shackleton Experience uses artefacts and interactive elements to try recreate the experience of some of his famous Antarctic explorations.

It is hoped the exhibition in Athy, Co Kildare, which was built with almost €8million of public money will help attract more visitors.
