Four pals to be laid to rest after road smash horror

- BY NICOLA DONNELLY

FUNERAL details have been announced for victims of the weekend's horror road crash in which five young people died.

Alan McCluskey and Dylan Commins, both 23, will be buried tomorrow while Shay Duffy, 21, and 23-year-old Chloe McGee will be laid to rest on Saturday.

And funds are being raised to bring the fifth victim, 21-year-old Chloe Hipson, home to Scotland.

Teacher Ms McGee is to be laid to rest exactly a week after the collision in Dundalk, Co Louth, which claimed her life.

Chloe, from Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, was killed along with her boyfriend Alan, from Drumconrath, Co Meath, and pals Dylan, also from Drumconrath, Shay, from Carrickmacross, and Ms Hipson, from Lanarkshire, in the horror crash.

The pals were heading on a night out and a sixth occupant of the Volkswagen Golf - a man from Ardee, Co Louth - survived and has since been released from hospital.

Another two people in a Toyota Landcruiser also involved in the accident also escaped with non-life threatening injuries. They remain in hospital.

NEIGHBOURS

The fatal collision took place on the Ardee Road in Gibstown, just after 9pm last Saturday.

Ms McGee's heartbroken family have now shared details of her funeral which takes place at St Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, at 11am.
