Jordan, 28, found in river after 3-week search

FEARS Benjamin Spot was last seen on November 19

SEARCHERS have recovered the body of this missing man from a river - but are still scouring for a boy who disappeared almost two weeks ago.

Gardai confirmed Jordan Newman's remains were recovered from the Boyne between Slane and Newgrange in Co Meath on Saturday but the search is ongoing for 14-year-old Benjamin Spot.

The body of Mr Newman, 28, who was from Navan and had been missing since November 10, was found by members of the Silverbridge Kayak Club.

Gardai said in a statement on Sunday: "Following the discovery of a man's body, the appeal for Jordan Newman has been stood down.

"We thank the media and the public for their assistance."

Meath Civil Defence, which played a central role in the search, told its Facebook page that Meath River Rescue then recovered Mr Newman's body from the river.
