Harris mulls Irish military role in Leb

TANAISTE Simon Harris wants the Defence Forces and other EU militaries to train and equip the Lebanese Army - in the wake of the decision to shut down UNIFIL.

Mr Harris, who is Minister for Defence as well as Foreign Affairs, has proposed to his counterparts in other EU member states that they unite to provide the support for the Lebanese Armed Forces in the coming months.
