German club says hooligans' attack on snapper in Dublin was 'unacceptable violence'

GERMAN football club Schalke 04 has said it is investigating after shocking footage emerged of some of its fans attacking a photographer on a Dublin street on Saturday.

The second-tier side were in Ireland to play Bohemians in a friendly match at Dalymount Park.

But the disgraceful incident occurred before the game when a large number of their fans was walking down Lower Abbey Street in the city centre.

Award-winning photographer Carly Clarke tried to photograph the supporters, only for one of the Schalke fans to aggressively confront her.
