GARDAI NAB €40K 'PRISON DRONE PILOTS'

GARDAI believe they have caught two suspected drone pilots red handed as they were about to fly €40,000 worth of drugs into Dublin's Wheatfield Prison.

Gardai arrested the men in the Clondalkin area of Dublin on Tuesday following an intelligence-led operation.

The men were arrested from a car with a drone device, believed to have been used to drop contraband into the Dublin prison, which was also seized.

Some €40,000 worth of cocaine, cannabis, heroin and MDMA were all found packaged together - along with several mobile phones.

The operation was carried out by Gardai from the Dublin Crime Response Team who stopped the vehicle as part of a planned operation.
