Garda crackdown on roads at Xmas

GARDAI in Galway have begun a major Christmas operation targeting dangerous drivers.

The festive period is notorious for being a dangerous time to drive on Irish roads, with 166 people losing their lives here in 2025.

Gardai will be conducting a dedicated road traffic enforcement operation which began at 7am yesterday and continues until 7 am on January 5.
