Compo cheat claimed crash injuries but filmed walking to car

INSURANCE chiefs have hailed the conviction of a compo cheat who was filmed packing a wheelchair away in the boot of his car before later jumping into it to be wheeled into a medical exam.

Cheeky Constantin Iosca was secretly filmed taking a pair of crutches out of plastic wrapping to bring to an appointment after claiming he had suffered injuries in a car crash.

He was charged with deception and using false documents in a rare criminal case and found guilty yesterday.

The Motor Insurers' Bureau of Ireland (MIBI) welcomed the result as "a good day for justice and a bad day for insurance fraud".
