DOC'S SICK AT EURO KO

United, who lost 2-1 to Shamrock Rovers last night, had qualified for the Europa Conference League after winning last season's FAI Cup.

But club owners Trivela Group subsequently purchased a majority share in Danish side Silkeborg and their qualification for the same competition saw the League of Ireland side fall foul of UEFA's multi-club ownership rules.

And after the Court of Arbitration for Sport yesterday backed the decision, Doherty didn't hide his frustration, telling LOITV: "We are devastated, very disappointed. I spoke to the players.

It was not the easiest conversation I have ever had.
