Red Hands pick up a victorý at third time of asking

AT the third time of asking, Tyrone collected their first win in this season's Division 2 when they emerged comfortable winners over Cavan at O'Neills Healy Park.

Star of the show for the winners was Darragh Canavan, who weighed in with 0-9, while team captain Brian Kennedy was a colossus in midfield in a good all-round team display that pleased manager Malachy O'Rourke (inset).

"It was vital to get a win as we didn't want to lose any further ground," he said.

"Another defeat would have left us looking up at teams so we had to win, especially against a Cavan side who came here with no points.
