JON Wilkin believes his former club St Helens are not genuine Super League title contenders this year, insisting they lack the final punch needed to win tight matches.

Hull KR edged out Saints 12-8 in a hard-fought contest at Sewell Group Craven Park, with defences dominating the brutal match. The result ended Paul Wellens’ side's four-game winning streak, leaving them fifth on the Super League table - one point behind Leigh and two adrift of Leeds.
Despite a challenging start to the season, St Helens have won nine of their last 11 Super League fixtures.
However, former back-rower Wilkin is not convinced they have what it takes to challenge for the Grand Final in 2025.
