Peters: That's the worst performance - no excuses

HULL KR head coach Willie Peters was left fuming by his side's performance in Las Vegas, labelling it the worst of his tenure.

Nine days after climbing to the top of the world with a World Club Challenge victory, the Robins came crashing back down to earth with a 58-6 defeat to Leeds Rhinos at Allegiant Stadium.

Brad Arthur's side ran riot, scoring 10 tries, including four from powerful winger Maiko Sivo with Rovers unable to handle the former NRL star in just his second appearance for Leeds.

Peters refused to use last week's emphatic win over Brisbane Broncos as an excuse, while Joe Burgess scored Rovers’ only try in Sin City - a late consolation effort.

“There are no excuses for that,” Peters said.

“Not for what we just delivered. If we perform and get beat, then maybe there are reasons why we ran out of petrol or whatever. But that performance - there's no excuse. I'm not going to sit here and deliver excuses about last week and all that sort of stuff, because it’s going to get tougher. It's only the start of the season.”
