New date for Club Challenge

PLANS for the World Club Challenge have taken a step forward with a date proposed for next year's event.

Organisers from Super League and the NRL are keen to ensure the fixture returns next year after it was shelved for the current season as a result of logistical challenges. Penrith were crowned champions down under but their involvement in the Las Vegas weekend meant arrangements could not be put in place.

Plans are already being put in place for next year, but it would still see the event take place the week before the Vegas weekend. The current proposal would see the World Club Challenge take place on Saturday, February 21.
