HEAD COACH DELIGHTED WITH HULL'S TENACIOUS DISPLAY AT LEIGH

John Cartwright believes the first-half performance from his Hull FC side was right up there with the best spells they have played all season.

FC were 26-0 up at half-time after posting four tries and five goals - and were good value for it. They were disciplined and composed, completing at a high rate, and when they got their opportunities to strike, they took them.

With the ball, they were sharp and potent, and they didn't waste their chances, instead keeping the scoreboard ticking to pull away from their opposition in what was an eye-catching and slick display.

Led by the superb Aidan Sezer, Hull clicked into gear, with the likes of Will Pryce shining in attack and Liam Knight with a physical and gritty stint that lasted for around 70 minutes.

But in truth, it was a team effort - and a performance that saw Hull dig their heels in after losing Cade Cust and John Asiata to injuries - eventually running out 26-12 winners at the Leigh Sports Village.
