CHESTER COMMENTS ON NEW SUPER LEAGUE EXPANSION

Chris Chester has voiced his concerns over Super League’s decision to expand the competition - but ultimately believes the sport must now unite behind the changes.

The Castleford Tigers director of rugby questioned the timing of the decision, admitting it feels rushed.

He also raised questions about the depth of available talent across a proposed 14-team topflight competition.

Bradford Bulls are in pole position to land a top spot next year, with London Broncos, Toulouse Olympique, and York Knights among the other frontrunners. Doncaster, Oldham and Widnes Vikings have also expressed their interest, with the top 12 places to be decided by IMG, and clubs 13 and 14 via a panel.
