Cricket day raises thousands of pounds for local charities

AN annual charity cricket day in Goole raised thousands for good causes in East Yorkshire.

The event, organised by Siemens Mobility, was taking place for a third year.
This year's competition saw returns from Angel Trains, Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems Porterbrook and Rock Rail with newcomer 7 Futures. They battled it out against three Siemens Mobility teams. A total of £24,000 was raised, which will now be shared between six local charities. The recipients are:
■The Friends of Oakhill, a volunteering group dedicated to maintaining and enhancing Oakhill Nature Reserve, which neighbours the Rail Village in Goole
