Carvalho injury blow amid City's signing interest

EX-HULL City star Fabio Carvalho is facing up to the prospect of missing the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in training, with Brentford boss Keith Andrews describing it as devastating.

The Bees forward, who netted once in his six Premier League outings this season, will now undergo surgery and begin the long road to recovery.
City had kept in close contact with Carvalho following his loan spell from Liverpool in the second half of the 2023-24 campaign and hadn't ruled out the possibility of striking a sensational deal with the Premier League club to bring him back in January, had the required stars aligned, the Mail understands.
